Creative Writing

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS: Through the online platform, students will learn the craft and structure of creative writing. Students will integrate their knowledge and ideas into their own writing. They will collaborate on their stories and help each other to produce the best work they can. There will be a variety of types of texts and different purposes. Students will learn to craft their work for the specific goal at hand. The entire class will take place on computers. Grammar and style will play a large integrated part in this class as well.

COURSE SCHEDULE

Each class will begin by students logging into Canvas  accounts and completing the daily writing prompts. 

There will then be a short lesson on the topics we are covering in the current unit. 

Students will work on their own or as a group depending on the unit.

General Rules:

The class will be expected to maintain appropriate behavior with regard to respecting themselves, their peers, their superiors as well as their classroom. Failure to be respectful will result in a discipline referral and/or detention. 

Smart Phone use is not allowed in class UNLESS the teacher specifically asks students to use it for class purposes.
