LCS may dismiss a student if he or she partakes in any of these activities, thus damaging the environment created & supported by the community:
- Academic Dishonesty
- Cyber Bullying
- Physical or Emotional Bullying
- Possession of Weapons
- Possession of Drugs or Alcohol
- Excessive Absences
These policies are in place to ensure the safety, security and educational opportunity of every student at Ledyard Charter School.
Knowing what is excepted and involved provides safety and security, allowing for a person to plan and progress with sure footing and confidence.
Listed below are some general procedures regarding events or issues that may occur throughout the year. For a more complete explanation of the policies and procedures of Ledyard Charter School, please read our LCS Handbook online.
In the event of an absence, a parent must call the school to
confirm the excused absence. If no call is received, the School will call home. No contact will result in an unexcused absence.
For students to engage in off-campus activities, written parent permission is required. Permission slips can be downloaded here.
LCS encourages outside internships for our students. A meeting
involving the Student, Director, Parent/Guardian and Internship Advisor must take place prior to approval of internship.
Progress Reports/Report Cards
Progress Reports and Report Cards will be mailed home at the end of each quarter/semester. Daily check-ins on grades and attendance are available to parents and students via EngradePro (our student information system).
Announcements will be posted on Channel WMUR9 and on the LCS Facebook page. Text messages will be also be generated through our EngradePro platform to parents that have registered their accounts. Please call or email Ms. Swett with any questions (email@example.com).
Parent-Teacher conferences are held twice a year during November and April. We look forward to 100% participation of students and parents/guardians.
LCS will approve work release on an individual basis. After a
meeting with the Student, Parent and Director/Support Coordinator, a decision will be made as to the options available to the student re: early release in order to report to a job.
